Here it is! Thanks to December break, I should have a lot of time to work on this month’s #OneGameAMonth! I’ve finally got a working prototype of a twin-stick shooter I had in mind, currently dubbed, “Prototype: Seurat“. Let me know what you guys think!

I’ve significantly improved Prototype Munch today, worthy of August #OneGameAMonth entry. It’s now a maze you have to navigate to the end! It does a much better job at demonstrating the power of a self-controlled camera. Let me know what you guys think in the comments!

A new month, a new beginning! Well, sort of. There’s hardly any time to finish Prototype Munch, but it’s still a great start.
Prototype Munch is an experiment with second-person camera and controls. Let me know what you think about navigating the level.
#OneGameAMonth July Entry: String Theory

Remember the prototype I was working on this month called, “Prototype: Monet”? Great news! I’m finally done with it, with a new title: String Theory!
For the uninformed, String Theory was intended to be a fishing simulation. It’s now a first-person puzzle game about gathering brightly colored objects by touching them with things attached to the fishing pole. As more objects are collected, more objects light up. Utilize this ability to reach to the red gate!

#OneGameAMonth Prototype Monet Progress: Lots of Progress

I’ve made excellent progress with Prototype Monet. There’s a level select screen, level transitions, pause menu, a new level (which adds targets), and a tutorial!

What a busy weekend that was. I only had tonight to work on Prototype Monet, but the progress is enormous. I have 3 new levels now! Currently, I don’t have a level select screen, so the levels will loop, but it’s still a tremendous amount of progress from last time.
#OneGameAMonth Prototype Monet Progress: More Katamari Inspiration

This update is a day late, but now that I realize that collecting and swinging around the objects are what makes this game fun, I’ve added an extra challenge to Prototype Monet. Only objects that are brightly colored can be collected, and by collecting more objects, more objects light up. It’s pretty obviously from Katamari.
For testing as well, I’ve implemented a target you can fire at. It does nothing as of yet, but it’s there.
I’ll finally get around level designing next weekend, so stay tuned!
#OneGameAMonth Prototype Monet Progress: More Physics

I added more physics experiments in Prototype Monet. I also find out this wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
Seems like just gathering objects is more interesting for this game. I’ll be focusing on that. Although how to to turn this into an objective is something I haven’t figured out yet.
